Point 1 : MS Dhoni is a "StAtPaDdEr"?
MS Dhoni has a simple formula, and he sticks to it. He has remained not out 51 times in ODI cricket, and India has lost only 2 of them. His mind works like a machine, he calculates when and which bowler to target.
MSD averages 100 in successful run chases, the highest of all time. He isn’t a wild slogger. If the situation demands quick run scoring, he has done that too many a times in his career. So, he is not a statpadder, but a “CHASE MASTER.”
Point 2 - The t20i career.
Haters often criticize MS Dhoni for not having a t20i man of the match and not having great stats in t20i’s. What these kids don’t know are the impactful match winning knocks MSD has played in his whole career to win important games.

He used to hold one end in t20is while the inform batters such as Virat, Yuvraj, Raina, Gambhir and Rohit went all guns blazing at the other end. That was his formula and he was highly successful.

2704 runs in 76 innings, 1 century, 24 half centuries, 41 average vs England across formats.
1183 runs in 32 innings, 10 half centuries and 53 average vs New Zealand in ODI’s and Tests in “New Zealand.”
Not to mention his great records v/s Pakistan and other Asian countries.

They tell you MS Dhoni doesn’t have an overseas 100. What they don’t tell you is that MS Dhoni has 8 half centuries in tests in England alone, which is only bettered by only 3 batters in Cricket history.
MS Dhoni has faced the third most balls in England battling out the swinging conditions between his debut to retirement.
He drew a Test in England in 2007 batting with the no.11 batter.
He won the historic 2007 Test series in England for India by scoring 92 runs. He had the best average amongst all batters in that series (53).
Only 2 batters have a better average in England than MS Dhoni batting at no.7 or lower (2871 runs at 32 average).
He also scored 5 valiant and counter attacking half centuries in 2011 and 2014, often rescuing India from situations like 80/5.
MS Dhoni averages 54 in New Zealand and 61 in Pakistan.
